1.1 Competency
As an architect one needs to possess varied number of skills and characteristics. One needs to have thorough knowledge of one’s organization’s product domain, development processes and relevant technologies. Even in the technical areas, the actions and activities of an architect differ significantly then that of a developer. Problems those are ambiguous in nature or not well defined usually falls in the bucket of an architect.

Quite a number of architect competencies can be articulated but are usually not measurable.

is critical to the success or failure of the product. Most user communities today
are very unforgiving of applications with substantial page response times. Time is a
valuable commodity in today’s fast-paced Internet world, so performance is an essential
aspect of user acceptance for any software product.
